The historic town of Dillon is nestled along Highway 6, between Lake Dillon and Keystone. As you enter the town, you will recognize modern retail stores and the countys only movie theaters. A town with an interesting past that dates back to the 1880s, it originally sat at the convergence of the Blue, Snake and Ten Mile rivers. In the early 1961,its residents were forced to move one mile north to create a water supply for the city of Denver. The town was named after gold seeker Tom Dillon, who became lost in the mountains when he emerged in Golden, he described a place where large rivers merged in a huge valley. Later explorers found the area and named it in his honor.
The original town site now lies 300 feet below the waters of Lake Dillon. Dillon is also home to a marina and amphitheater. Dillon offers a wide variety of real estate choices including lake front condos, charming homes and many in-town properties.
