BRECKENRIDGE - Residential development on Main Street could pose even more of a threat to the economic vitality of the town’s core business district than the profusion of real estate offices.
In a memo prepared for the April 10 town council work session, the Breckenridge Economic Development Advisory Commission (BEDAC) is calling for “immediate restrictions … that allow no further ground-floor residential development or conversions in the core areas of town.”
After studying the issue for several months, BEDAC concluded that, without action, there is a significant risk that the north end of Main Street could become largely residential, resulting in a negative impact on the tourist experience in Breckenridge
